The new PvP event for Rainbow Six Siege, Containment, starts today Ubisoft has confirmed. Siege players will get a first taste of Rainbow Six Extraction gameplay as Containment is a new mode inspired by the upcoming Tom Clancy title. Taking place on a reworked version of the ‘Consulate’ map, players will take on the Chimera Parasite overtaking the area in a new mode titled Nest Destruction.
You will take on the roles of REACT agents hell-bent on destroying the Nests or the Proteans trying to protect them. These Proteans are a deadly Archaean variant and will attempt to mimic REACT operators by only using their melee attacks coupled with maximum speed. Attackers and defenders will of course have pros and cons during these fights as attackers will have a standard loadout without modifiers and access to a reduced Operators selection while defenders will be provided with additional Health, Aruni’s Punch, and Oryx’s special abilities, but will be weaponless for the entire game match. In Nest Destruction, attackers have the choice to either finish the two-tiered objective, or eliminate the other team, while defenders will have to rely on Oryx’s Ramah Dash to hold back their opponents.
The entire Containment event will come with 33 items for Rainbow Six Siege operators. These items include, Ace, Blackbeard, Amaru, and Zero (for the attacking side), and then Aruni, Jager, Kaid, Mira, and Warden (for the defending team). Each operator’s exclusive time-limited items will be available for purchase as bundles starting today in the Shop section for 1680 R6 credits or through Containment packs for 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown.
Rainbow Six Siege will be free from August 13th-August 15th, and players should expect to earn twice as many bonus Battle Pass points during this period.
