Earlier today, a release trailer for Crusader Kings 3 was uploaded to Paradox’s Youtube channel, giving the game a 2020 release date. Despite insistence from many fans, the announcement was not for a long-anticipated Victoria 3, but was definitely for Crusader Kings 3.
The series is a humorous, if rather daunting grand strategy experience, that combines intricate strategic decision making with the rather bewildering nature of medieval court life. Details are currently slim on the new title, but PC Gamer reports that the third title in the series will be the most “novice-friendly”, giving players additional hints as they try to progress through the game, which will hopefully address one of the series’ long-standing criticisms. For those who may want to get some experience with the game’s mechanics before next year’s launch and missed the recent Humble Bundle offer, Crusader Kings 2 is currently free to download and keep on Steam until the 20th October.
