Dead or Alive 6, the newest instalment to the franchise has just recently announced it’s “Strongest” Edition, which has raised a few eyebrows due to the contents of the bundle.
The “Strongest” Edition will include the base game and its original soundtrack, an art book, a set of 25 memorial tin badges and a code for the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition. It will also come with some rather interesting collectors items as well, including a set of five posters that are specifically made to be hung on the bathroom door that will feature some of the female characters in the game.
It will also include a dakimakura cover or body pillow, that features two characters from the game, Ayane and Kasumi, in suggestive poses, as well as three padded mousepads that enhance and accentuate some of the characters’ breasts and buttocks. One of the mousepads will also reveal a brand new female character that’s being introduced in the new game, the name of which is yet to be announced.
The “Strongest” bundle will retail at 25,800 yen ($232 USD) and will only be available to buy in Japan. The Collector’s Edition will be priced at 12,800 yen ($115 USD) but won’t include the posters, mousepads and body pillow. The bundles will certainly appeal to some avid collectors out there.
Team Ninja, the studio behind the Dead or Alive franchise has said in an interview with IGN that this instalment is going to take a more serious and mature tone than the previous titles and not be so overtly sexualised in its character design, but the items included in the special edition bundles seem to stray much further away from that statement.
Dead or Alive 6 will be released worldwide on February 15 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Fans can view the most recent release date trailer for more information on the game.
