Are you looking for something to watch with your significant other on your next date night? Do you both share the same sick and twisted sense of humour? And have you been itching to see more of Nick Kroll’s debaucherous and hilarious comedy? Well if you missed it on Valentine’s Day, Big Mouth released a 45-minute special that could be exactly what you’re looking for.
Big Mouth is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to the content and subjects they choose to tackle, and this is no different. This picks up almost exactly where the second season left off and we get to see the fallout of their visit to their Puberty Department. For the most part this is exactly what you’d expect, however, there are some choices they made that fit with the character and not in a good way.
This special has several different threads from Andrew and his new hat to Nick and a certain… body part, we also get to see coach Steve, Jesse and Matthew, and even Jay. Each of them has their own take and plans for the day of love-sick puppies and hopeless romantics. A thing that the writers do exceptionally well is weaving and telling an interconnected story.
All said and done however, it is not very romantic. If you want more cringe-worthy reminders of the worst time to be alive then by all means watch it. This is technically the start of the third season so if you need to keep up then this is definitely something you need to watch. Unless your significant other has a messed up sense of humour too maybe don’t watch this on date night. As messed up as it is this is still very entertaining and totally Big Mouth!
